Manoa Readers / Theatre Ensemble
The Manoa Foundation is a supporter of the Manoa Readers / Theatre Ensemble, which presents performances of literature and drama for university, community, and statewide audiences.
MR / TE is a collaborative, cross-disciplinary initiative of UHM Outreach College, Community Services Division, and UHM College of Languages, Linguistics, and Literature. Co-directors are Tim Slaughter, of Outreach College, and Frank Stewart, of CLLL.
MR/TE productions to date include
- Damien by Aldyth Morris, UHM Kennedy Theatre, 2012;
- The Cocktail Party by Tatsuhiro Oshiro, Hawaii Okinawa Center and UHM Orvis Auditorium, 2011;
- Andha Yug: Age of Darkness by Dharamvir Bharati, UHM Orvis Auditorium, 2010; and
- Ascending Peculiarities: The Sublime, Absurd, and Mystical Mr. Gorey, based on the work of Edward Gorey, UHM Orvis Auditorium, 2010.
